Sculptural work
Cold As Poison
To accompany my film I built replicas of the sheep boxes used to contain livestock. I studied experimental footage and built my closest approximation. these boxes were designed to act as benches and were therefore constructed to bear weight.
I constructed the canvas covering and dyed it, to give the impression that these boxes were left to rot. These sculptures served as a physical reminder of these experiments and the history left to rot on the landscape. The skulls were sourced from shepherds.
Iseabail
This sculptural piece accompanies the film A Mountain To Devour. inspired by the story of Isobel Mackenzie, a widow who was evicted from a cave by the ocean. i was inspired by a story in my own family, where an old woman took shelter beneath a boat after she was evicted, and decided to pay homage to both these shelters. I constructed a currach, inspired by the spey Currach and the Boyne coracle designs.
